A rare and unusual all solid sterling silver button hook and combination shoe horn. It is hallmarked for London 1933 with the makers marks being those of Aspreys. It has a functional design and is in super condition being free from splits and repairs, once gilded but almost gone. Interestingly it has been engraved with the initials RW de B and a coronet.
I suspect these are the initials of Rachel Wrey De Broke, Rachel Wray married Lord Willoughby (Baron de Broke) in 1933, the year this was made, perhaps it was part of a travelling set given as a wedding gift? It measures 7 inches (17.8cms) long by almost 1.5 inches wide and weighs 70 grams (it is thick gauge and perfectly usable). An interesting and unusual piece.
