Antique STEUBEN Verre de Soie OPEN SALT Cellar GORHAM Sterling Silver FOOT

This is a lovely antique STEUBEN iridescent art glass OPEN SALT cellar with an engraved leaf design around the bowl, presented on a GORHAM Sterling Silver base. The glass is known as "Verre de Soie". This piece is shown in The Open Salt Compendium on page 15, plates 19 & 20 - their description dates production to 1916.

The base is signed with Gorham hallmarks, the word STERLING, and #2467D. Measurements : 1.75" high, 2.25" wide mouth, 1.625 wide foot.
