Glorious CIRO Vintage Art Deco 1930s Sterling Silver Paste Dress Clips Brooch

This priceless, beyond rare, original, as good as mint condition solid silver Ciro double brooch is an absolute beauty & belongs in a collection, such is the whiteness of the pastes that I wonder if they may be earth mined Siamese Zircons, which CIRO "discovered" in the 1920s & which at the time were more costly than diamonds (absolutely NOT to be confused with Cubic Zirconia). By hand with lovely workmanship, entirely encrusted with hand bead set pastes, as much care going into finishing off the back as to the front. I have been collecting Duet or Double clips for years, have never before owned or handled this particular example & believe it dates to the 1920s, no later than the 1940s. He entire brooch is made of solid silver, (CP standing for both CIRO & solid silver) then being given a Rhodium plate finish, this to enhance the stones & to stop the silver from marking precious clothing. Across the width & 2.6mm (1.1) deep, & weighs around 15 gms. You can clearly read the stamp CP & ENGLAND stamps to the back of both clips.

Sparkling diamond white pastes & looks astonishing under artificial light, the sliding pin is as tight as the day it left the workroom, the clips being incredibly tight, with nothing more than very slight use marks to the back, one grain-of-sand area of Rhodium plate missing from near the hinge, which can only be viewed under a loup. This is fit for the serious Deco / Retro jewellery collector.

The pin having a flip-over safety catch, not sure if the pin is silver (they rarely are being that silver is too soft). (I recommend you measure against other brooches you own to give an idea as to the size). CIRO vintage silver & Paste brooch / Duet clip. No but I will find a box for you.
